Type of Placement - Voluntary - Youth Support Worker – 3 places

Job Description - You will supervise a group of 10 young people aged 14-18 to work together on a programme of activities aimed to increase the young people's self esteem, self reliance and emotional intelligences awareness. You will take part in a variety of activities based around sustainable development (e.g. traditional building techniques and woodland management) and adventure activities (coasteering, rock climbing and surfing) as well as woodland therapy.

Your role will be to support learning and facilitate team building amongst the group, to mediate conflict and encourage participation of all involved. You will help facilitate a behaviour management system and ensure it is implemented. You will help the young people to evidence their learning through photography.

The placement is 1 day a week from Feb to July; you will be expected to take part in prior training from the end of October. The programme will be run in partnership with an external organisation and you will be given full training and support throughout your placement.
